In cases like these, using something like WordPress is almost certainly going to be more manageable than trying something new.
Pros of Wix
Do you want to build a professional-looking website quickly and easily, without spending a lot of time learning how to do it? Well, then Wix is definitely for you. Who should use each one?

There is no right or wrong here, but we did find that some entrepreneurs like WordPress better while others prefer using Wix. If you want to be able to customize your websites more by adding plugins, then WordPress might be a better option for you because it allows access to hundreds of thousands of open source plugins that can make customizing your site much easier than using something like Wix.
If you like to have more control over your site’s design and aren’t opposed to using some coding, then you might want to consider using WordPress. The reason for that is because you will be able to access a wide range of tutorials for learning how to code your site if you need extra functionality that doesn’t come with your theme.
This gives you plenty of options as well as freedom when it comes time to build and customize your site so you can do almost anything that you want with it. You also won’t need an additional domain name, which may be a plus if there are already other sites hosted on your domain name.
What are the best alternatives to both platforms?
There are plenty of options out there for people looking to build a professional site without having to choose either WordPress or Wix. Some alternatives include building your own using HTML, CSS, and Javascript; starting with a different CMS like Drupal; coding your own from scratch (not recommended); using something like SquareSpace that’s simpler than both platforms; even just building a Facebook Page and not worrying about design at all.
